How long will R1 Coatings™ last? When will I need to reapply?

R1 Coatings™ are engineered to provide permanent protection for your vehicle. With proper care and maintenance, the life of R1 Coatings™ can outlast the usable lifetime of your car. To enhance protection, apply R1 Coatings™ Revive 45 to 60 minutes after application or at any time after curing. We recommend using Revive 2-4 times per year or after washing to enhance your coating. This is a quick and simple spray and wipe process.

How much do I need for my vehicle?

  • Choose a 30ml bottle for 1 sedan, 1 mid-size truck or 2 motorcycles.
  • Choose a 50ml bottle for 1 SUV, 1 full-size truck, 3 motorcycles or 2 sedans – Or if you would like to apply multiple coats.
  • RVs & Boats: Contact us if you have a large RV or something where multiple bottles may be required and we will advise you.

Can I apply multiple coats?

R1 Coatings™ can be layered 2-3 times for added thickness and durability. Wait at least 1 hour between coats.

Does R1 Coatings™ protect against rock chips?

R1 Coatings™ has a hardness level of 9H (which is very hard) and will help to protect against very light chips and scratches. However, R1 Coatings™ is not designed to protect against high velocity projectiles such as rock chips while driving at higher speeds. You should not purchase R1 Coatings™ for chip and scratch protection, but look at it as an extra benefit for light damage.

Can I use R1 Coatings™ on chrome?

Can I use R1 Coatings™ on my boat?

R1 Coatings™ works great on boats!

Can I use R1 Coatings™ on vinyl wraps and decals?

Yes. For matte and satin vinyl, we recommend using a test area on a small inconspicuous area first to make sure you are happy with the results, as the coating may add a small amount of shine. However, the protective benefits of the coating will remain when applied to vinyl products.

Can I use R1 Coatings™ on my clear bra?

Yes, you can apply R1 Coatings™ over your clear bra to enhance its protection and prevent yellowing.

Why isn’t R1 Coatings™ available in stores?

We prefer to cut out the retail middle man and simply offer our coatings directly to the consumer. We want to provide the same protective technology that professional detailers charge $800 or more to install directly to you.

Can I remove the coating once applied?

Since R1 Coatings™ are engineered to be permanent, they cannot be chemically stripped. Removal requires mechanical abrasion with compounds and polishes, like a typical clear coat would.

Can I apply traditional waxes and sealants over R1 Coatings™?

Yes, but the wax or sealant will not have the same level of durability on a ceramic coating because the coating will try to shed the wax and sealant instead of letting it bond. R1 Coatings™ is superior to traditional waxes and sealants, and once applied, you will never need to wax again.

How should I prepare my vehicle for coatings application?

Any polishing or paint correction should be completed before applying R1 Coatings™. If you’re happy with the condition of your finish, make sure your vehicle has been thoroughly washed and dried. Clean the vehicle surface with R1 Coatings™ Prep to remove any remaining polish, wax, and surface contaminants.

Why can’t you tell me how long my coating will last?

There are many variables that determine the lifetime of a nano ceramic coating including how often you drive, the environment you live in, how often you wash your car, and where you store it. For example, if you live in a harsh climate and park your vehicle outside, your coating may not last as long as a vehicle that is mainly stored indoors in a mild climate.
